"My how time flies when you are in the peaceful surroundings of God's country. I don’t fish but no problem. With the staffs' thoughtful guidance I found horseback riding, hiking, and shopping most enjoyable. Jon had a fantastic time fishing lakes, rivers, and creeks. In the evenings we enjoyed the beautiful view, cool air, crazy hummingbirds, and discussed our adventures -- the huge fish he caught and the bigger one that got away, lessons learned, and kindness of the staff."

Much More Than Just A Fantastic Angling Destination . . . The 900-acre Broadacres Ranch, open year round, is the perfect place to bring the entire family or non-angling companions. The Creede area, at the headwaters of the Rio Grande, offers a tremendous diversity of pleasurable activities summer and winter.

For those wishing to relax, read or meditate in the cool, crisp mountain air, all our lodgings have spacious porches with magnificent vistas. The Broadacres has also created over 4 miles of private hiking trails along the Ranch's river banks. Many isolated seating and picnic areas along Shallow Creek and the Rio Grande have also been built. Alongside the pristine burbling water, these intimate spaces are truly a world apart.

With prior notice, our staff can arrange for whitewater rafting trips, horseback trail rides, Creede Repertory Theater tickets, and dinner reservations at any of the excellent restaurants in the area.
Several nationally-recognized artists, including Steve Quiller and Larry Basky, have outstanding galleries in downtown Creede. The shopping for quality Western jewelry, clothes, and artifacts is excellent.

Surrounded by National Forest, Broadacres has direct access to spectacular National Forest trails, which make for exciting day hikes. For trekkers wanting more strenuous work, the 490,000 acre Weminuche Wilderness is at the ranch's back door. High altitude sight seeing by 4x4 is abundant in our area. Within an hour's drive is the breathtaking Alpine Loop Four-Wheel-Drive Road over Engineers and Cinnamon Passes, offering unparalleled views of numerous 14,000-plus foot mountains and the spectacular wild flowers of the American Basin. The scenic Bachelors Loop Historic Mining Tour winds up and around the grand old Creede mines, by beaver ponds and through picturesque groves of aspen and spruce.

There are miles of excellent mountain biking trails adjacent to the ranch. In the winter months cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling are excellent, whether on the groomed trail system or, with appropriate precautions for safety and environmental considerations, on your own.
